About us

Great Homer Street first became home to a weekly market in 1840 when it was relocated from its original site near where St George’s Hall now stands.

Generations of Scousers have made Greatie a 'go to' destination every Saturday when 140 traders set up, inside and outdoors, and sell the latest fashions and homeware, meats, fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, bakery, cosmetics, toys and more.

It's a bustling, upbeat market where many famous faces have worked over the years, and it has been the birthplace of many successful, independent local businesses. You are bound to leave Greatie with full bags and a smile on your face.
