Poisons licence

Non medicinal poisons may only be sold by a pharmacist or a person registered with the local authority. See part 2 of the poisons list.

How to apply

We can only register businesses in Liverpool.

Apply online for a licence to sell poisons

• Download, print off and complete a paper application and return by post.

Tacit consent

Tacit Consent Applies. The legislation requires only that the city council process your application for you to be registered.

Fees

Cheques should be made payable to Liverpool City Council.

• Initial registration £32.99.
• Re-registration £17.39.
• Changes in details of registration £8.99.

Please note that you will need the application reference number to hand and must select  'Licensing'  from the drop down menu on the payments page. 

Alternatively, you can send a cheque made payable to Liverpool City Council. Please write the application reference number on the back of your cheque and send it to:

Problem applications

We will contact you if there is a problem with your application and try to resolve it with you. If we have to reject your application, the legislation does not give a right to appeal or for a refund of any fee paid.

Processing

Timescales for registration on receipt of application is five days.
