Births, marriages, deaths

Copy certificates

We hold records of all births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships that have taken place in Liverpool and the majority of West Derby, Toxteth Park and a small area of Prescot, since 1 July 1837.

If a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership took place in Whiston, Sefton or Wirral, Liverpool Register Office cannot provide your certificate. You must apply to the Register Office where the birth, death, marriage or civil partnership took place.

If you need certificates for family history or research purposes please see our family history certificate page.
