All certificates must be paid for before we issue them.  We accept payment by cash, cheque (made payable to Liverpool City Council), credit or debit card. Please do not send cash through the post.

This is available for UK addresses only.  Please be aware that this service requires a signature at the destination.  Liverpool Register Office is not liable for any certificates that are delayed or lost in the post.

How long will it take?

If you apply in person at the Register Office for copy certificates for day-to-day use, they will be issued in two working days for collection and five working days if they are to be posted out.

Online and postal applications for day-to-day certificates are processed within five working days.  Certificates applied for online or through the post are not available for collection at the Register Office.  We aim to process applications for family history research that have the Liverpool Register Office reference within five working days.
