Apply for a landlord licence

Please note: An application for a landlord licence will be considered valid once a fully completed Part 1 application has been submitted, along with a fully completed Part 2 application including all the required documents and fee. If a licence holder has more than one property they want to licence, then any additional licence applications will only be considered valid if an additional Part 2 application is submitted for each further property, along with the required documents and fee for each.  If you do not comply with the above, the property licence application will be deemed incomplete and it will not be valid.

Part One - fit and proper person check

First, you need to apply for a fit and proper person check using the button below – this will cost you £50 which must be paid upfront and is non-returnable.

Once you’ve submitted your application, we’ll email you with the payment link and a reference number starting with the letters ‘LH’ (be sure to check your Junk or Spam email for this). Please make a note of this reference number as you will need it later.

Part Two - property licence application

If you  already have a reference number for your fit and proper person check, you may use the online form below to apply for a property licence.

Please note: A separate licence application must be submitted for each property you wish to licence.

Each application must be made with the full fee - we cannot process applications without a payment. Please make a note of the 'PL' reference number you are given for each application you submit.
