Consultation on the introduction of voluntary improvement training for licensed drivers and proprietors

Consultation on the introduction of voluntary improvement training for licensed drivers and proprietors

Start date: 30th October 2017
End date: 27th November 2017

What we're consulting on

We're proposing to introduce a scheme that offers Hackney and private hire drivers, as well as licensed proprietors, the opportunity to voluntarily attend 'improvement training' sessions designed to address their lack of knowledge about their legal responsibilities and the standards of conduct they are required to meet.

How to comment

Please email completed surveys to licensing@liverpool.gov.uk, or post them to Team Leader Taxis, Licensing and Public Protection, Cunard Buildings, Water Street, Liverpool, L3 1LH. All completed surveys must be received by 27th November 2017.

What happens to my views?

All survey responses received will be considered before a decision is made by the Licensing Committee about whether to proceed with the proposed scheme, or an amended version of it.

We ask you to give your identity on the survey so that we can, if needed, contact you to discuss any comments you make. Your details and identity will not be included in the final report of the consultation responses presented to the committee.

The unattributed responses themselves may, however, be included as a publicly accessible appendix to the committee report which will be published on this website.

What happens next?

Feedback from the consultation will be presented to the Licensing Committee at the first available meeting after the consultation closes.
