At the end of each financial year, we are required by the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 to publish a Statement of Accounts setting out the financial position of the council and the transactions that have been made during the year.
You have the right to inspect these accounts, and the associated documents, in accordance with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
The 2015/16 unaudited draft accounts, signed by the Responsible Financial Officer, will be published on this page on 30th June 2016 along with the annual governance statement.
They will then be made available for public inspection, along with the supporting accounting records and associated documents, from 1st July 2016 - 11th August 2016.
During this period, local electors can ask the external auditors questions about the draft accounts, or raise objections to them.
We’ll post more details on how you can inspect the accounts and ask questions on this page when we post the unaudited draft accounts on 30th June 2016.
Once they have been externally audited and approved by the council’s Audit and Governance Committee, the final audited accounts will be posted here on or by 30th September 2016, along with the audit opinion.
You can find out more about your right to inspect the council’s accounts on the National Audit Office’s website.
The accounts for the most recent financial year and final audited accounts for the last six years, with a summary of each, are published below.
