Liverpool City Council’s social care services for adults are going through their biggest changes for many years.
We started consulting in September 2010 with people who use our services, their families and carers on new plans for providing care and support in the city.
The first phase of this work looked at day opportunities for older people and people who have physical or sensory impairments and also the 24-hour care we provide in Venmore, Sedgemoor, and Granby care homes. Consultation on this piece of work was completed in December 2011.
We have now started transforming our existing buildings into places that will be a focus for the whole community.
The building work on this has now been completed and the centre was officially opened on 16 May 2013. The centre will provide re-ablement and dementia day care and features plenty of innovative features such as a 4D interactive suite and a sensory garden.
Work has already started on the present site on Upper Baker Street to turn Lime Court Day Centre into The Lime.
The central court yard was completed in summer 2011 and work is now underway on the hydrotherapy spa - the first of its kind in the city.
View the plans for The Lime, as well as work that has already been completed.
The following buildings will also be transformed as part of our plans and are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013.
