Family support

What is family support?

Family support provides a range of services to promote and safeguard the welfare of families and young children in Liverpool.  The service:

  • Prevents the unnecessary accommodation of children and young people.
  • Enables children and young people to live safely in the community.
  • Enables looked after children to return home.
  • Provides support to looked after children and young people to prevent placement breakdown.
  • Provides a responsive service to black children and young people who are experiencing difficulty at home or who are looked after by the council.
  • Helps families to access community resources to gain independence and social inclusion.

How to access this service

If you or your family are in difficulty, need support and advice or access to social care services for children, contact the council's Careline service.
