Sheltered housing is accommodation for rent, which is specially designed for older people so they can live independently, with a range of communal facilities such as a lounge, laundry, and hairdressing. Each sheltered scheme has a scheme manager and most have alarm systems.
How to apply
Join the Property Pool Plus housing register
You must join the Property Pool Plus housing register before you can apply for accommodation.
If you need help completing the application you can contact your housing association or visit your local One Stop Shop.
Find a property
Once you have registered, you can search the Property Pool Plus website for sheltered housing that meets your needs across the five Merseyside local authority areas: Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton and Wirral. The system will show vacant properties and allow you to express an interest or 'place a bid'.
If you don't have access to the internet, or prefer not to use the online service, don't worry. Properties will continue to be advertised each week on display boards in housing association offices and newsletters.
