Set up an innovative energy company
I pledged to set up an innovative energy company to provide affordable energy for Liverpool households.
One in seven people in Liverpool live in fuel poverty, and 70,000 people in the city use pre-pay meters which are the costliest way of paying for energy.
It’s clear that our city needed to do something to help.
‘Liverpool Energy Community Company (LECCY)' launched in 2017 to bring cheaper energy to Liverpool households with a special focus on helping those with pre-pay meters, providing new smart meters that will save money.
LECCY is a partnership between Liverpool City Council and Robin Hood Energy, a not-for-profit energy supplier wholly owned by Nottingham City Council.
