Blue badge parking bays

Where can I park?

If you have a blue badge you can park in any on street Pay and Display bays and in most of the city's Pay and Display car parks free of charge, with no time limit.  Badge holders must ensure that a valid blue badge is clearly on display in the windscreen, so the date of expiry and issuing council are clearly visible from outside the vehicle. This is specified in your Blue Badge Scheme booklet.

The exception to this is Mount Pleasant Multi-Storey car park, which has 37 dedicated disabled parking bays on level 5.  If blue badge holders park in non-disabled bays, you may receive a penalty charge notice if you have not purchased a valid pay and display ticket. For further guidance, read page 17 of the Department for Transport's 'Blue Badge Scheme' booklet.

Single or double yellow lines

Badge holders can park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours, except where there is a ban on loading or unloading.  Both the blue badge and clock must be displayed showing the date of expiry and your time of arrival.  You should ensure that no obstruction or danger is caused to other road users. For more information regarding the do's and don'ts of the Blue Badge Scheme, read the  Department for Transport's 'Blue Badge Scheme' booklet.
