You can download a cycle map from the Travelwise cycling website or email your address to transportation@liverpool.gov.uk for your free copy.

Bike rides

  • Check our news and events to find out when bike rides take place in and around Liverpool. 
  • Travelwise hold bike rides around Merseyside throughout the summer until October each year. Visit Travelwise to find out more.
  • Liverpool PCT's Cycle for Health project encourages people to become physically active through cycling. Visit Liverpool PCT to find out when and where rides take place.

Cycle Challenge

Register at www.travelwisecyclechallenge.org.uk to log your cycle trips and set personal goals. You can see how many miles you clock up – and if you register as part of an organisation or workplace, you can compete against your friends and colleagues.

Cycle forum

The Liverpool Cycle Forum meets four times a year to talk about the cycling issues in Liverpool and how we can promote cycling across the city.

The next two Forums will take place at 5.30pm on:

  • Wednesday 13 June 2012.
  • Wednesday 19th September 2012.

The forum is open to everybody, so if you would like to attend please email transportation@liverpool.gov.uk.

Cycle parking

Locations of bike stands are shown on the Liverpool cycle map.  If there is somewhere you go in the city where you'd like cycle parking, let us know at transportation@liverpool.gov.uk.

Bikes on trains and ferries

You can take your bike for free on ferries and trains in Merseyside, though remember it's busy in peak hours.  See Merseyrail and Northern Rail for more information or call Traveline on 0871 200 2233.

The Travelwise website provides information on cycle training and skills for adults and schools as well as offers and cycle events.  Visit Travelwise to find out more.
