The Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline on 0808 223 1133 responds to calls from Liverpool residents on behalf of Liverpool Trading Standards Service from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. Find out more about the consumer helpline.

Requirements for businesses

All business and traders are required by law to ensure that they are not in breach of trading standards and we can carry out investigations to check if they comply, specifically in the following areas:

• Consumer rights (including selling methods).
• Food.
• Fair trading.
• Safety.
• Weights and measures.
