The Business and Economic Support Team at Liverpool City Council help foster a strong and inclusive economy. Driving innovation and boosting productivity is key to facilitating economic success in all of our communities, and we are keen to support local businesses and new start-ups to grow and create employment opportunities in the city.

What we offer

We deliver the Business Support Service in Liverpool which helps provide potential entrepreneurs and existing businesses with support to assist their growth, which could include: 

  • advice for residents thinking of starting a business
  • support workshops for early-stage entrepreneurs 
  • specialist advice for existing businesses looking to grow
  • signposting to additional support and referrals into relevant programmes
  • help finding sites and premises to start, expand or relocate businesses
  • development of key business clusters and sectors
  • inward investment support and investor development

This service is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
