How do I promote my Eurovision offer?

How do I help keep the city clean during Eurovision?
We have teamed up with Keep Britain Tidy to improve how we tackle waste. We encourage you to play a more active role in cleaning up our city by joining a volunteer litter picking group who carry out regular clean-ups. For more information please visit liverpool.gov.uk/klt.

How do I apply for a temporary event notice?
Liverpool City Council has written to all licensed premises with the deadlines to apply for either a licence variation or a temporary event notice (TEN) in time for Eurovision.
The deadline to vary a licence has now passed – it was 24th February 2023. The TEN deadlines are set out below:
- applications for a standard TEN must be received by Sunday 30th April 2023
- applications for a late TEN must be received by Sunday 7th May 2023

How do I apply for a new pavement licence?
New pavement licences are free of charge if you apply before 31st March 2023 but from 1st April 2023, they will cost £100. If you are applying for a pavement licence for the first time it will be valid until 30th September 2023.

How do I access training for front of house staff?
We want your front of house staff to be ready and prepared for Eurovision. Hospitality businesses are invited to the Hilton Liverpool on the 28th March at 11am and 29th March at 1pm for an event which gives insights into how to positively interact with all your Eurovision visitors.

How do I access ambassador training?
Fully-funded ambassador training is available for employees within the hospitality, retail, attraction, passenger transport and cultural sectors to build and enhance their customer service skills, and their knowledge of the Liverpool City Region. Businesses can access either a one-day 'Destination Welcome Ambassador' training workshop and a two-day 'Destination Welcome Ambassador Manager' workshop.
The workshops cover the history of LCR, how to provide a warm welcome to visitors, training in exceptional customer service and the customer journey, cultural awareness and languages, importance of providing an accessible and inclusive service, communication skills and more. How do I build an awareness of cyber crime and ways of combatting it?
Due to Eurovision being such a high-profile event with related political tensions, Merseyside Police Cyber Dependent Crime Unit anticipate increased attempts of cyber-dependent crimes across the area, and they want to protect local SME’s from the risks of cyber-related attacks. They recommend the resources below.
- Police CyberAlarm - a free tool to help you understand and monitor malicious cyber activity. This service is made up of two parts - monitoring and vulnerability scanning. Register to become a member online at cyberalarm.police.uk where you will also find useful FAQ’s.
- North West Cyber Resilience Centre materials - free guidance to help make you more cyber resilient. Sign up to access these resources at nwcrc.co.uk/membership.

How do I sign staff up for 'You're safe here' training?
Fifty-three venues are now accredited with the ‘You’re Safe Here’ mark, following training sessions delivered by LCR Pride Foundation in partnership with Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner, Emily Spurrell, Stop Hate UK, Merseyside Police, Liverpool Nightlife CIC and other city partners.

The Combined Authority, Liverpool City Council, DWP and partners across the city region are working together to make sure the jobs and opportunities Eurovision offers are the foundation of a sustainable and long-term future for the sector and the staff and businesses within it. Where do I find out more about supported internships?
Nationally only 4.8% of individuals with a learning disability or autism who are known to local authorities go on to secure paid employment, compared to 80% of their peers. Liverpool City Council is committed to ensuring no young person is disadvantage.
