Council Tax COVID-19 Hardship Payment

Liverpool City Council has been provided with funding for Council Tax hardship support as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic. The purpose of this fund is to provide additional support to working age Council Taxpayers who are on a low income and currently qualify for a reduced bill under the Council Tax Support Scheme (CTS).

Council Taxpayers who are of working age and entitled to Council Tax Support will receive a payment of up to £150 to reduce their Council Tax bill for 2020/2021. This payment will be in addition to any Council Tax Support you currently receive.

A hardship payment will also be provided to any new eligible working age claims received during 2020/2021.

If you qualify for the additional help it will automatically be applied to your Council Tax bill. However, if you are still experiencing financial difficulties you can email us at Revenue.Service@liverpool.gov.uk
