Consultation on Middleton Court Sheltered Accommodation Scheme

Start date: 25th January 2023
End date: 8th March 2023

What are we consulting on?

We are consulting with tenants at Middleton Court to understand the effects of implementing a preferred care provider into the scheme to support the first stages of expanding Middleton Court into an Extra Care Scheme.

The council pays for some of the services provided in the Middelton Court sheltered scheme. This money helps to pay for some of the Scheme Manager’s time. We are looking at different ways in which the scheme manager’s role can be funded. We also would like tenants feedback on converting Middleton Court into an extra care service. The aim of extra care is to promote independence and provide a home for life. There are five extra care schemes in Liverpool and each one has a similar layout to Middleton Court in that it is made up of self-contained flats.

Before we make a decision about our plans for funding into the scheme, we want to hear from tenants at Middleton Court on how they use the service and how they think this change could affect them. We will use this information to help us decide if we will make these changes and will let tenants know how we have used their feedback.
