Consultation on the Statement of Community Involvement

Start date: 28th November 2022
End date: 13th January 2023

What are we consulting on?

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory document which sets out the ways in which the council will engage with residents, businesses, community groups and other stakeholders in the development of planning policy and the determination of planning applications in Liverpool.

We are consulting on the draft SCI, which sets out our proposals for the following:

  • Consultation on planning policy documents. This includes the Local Plan, Supplementary Planning Documents and design guidance/codes. It highlights the stages of consultation, length of consultation, what we must do to meet planning regulations and what additional engagement we will seek to do, including such things as workshops and focus groups, online events, use of social media and public meetings.
  • The preparation process for a neighbourhood plan and neighbourhood development order.
  • Publicising planning and other types of applications received by the Planning Department.
