Consultation on changes to language resourced provision at Four Oaks Primary School

We are consulting on a proposal to make changes to language resourced provision at Four Oaks Primary School.

The proposal is to decommission the Language Resource Base at Four Oaks Primary School and discontinue the 32 part-time language resourced places currently offered at the base, with effect from 1st September 2019.

What happens to my views?

Any comments received, by letter or email, will be reported to the council when it comes to take a decision on the proposals. Council papers are public documents and are posted on this website.

Any comments you make, therefore, will be made public, but the papers will be edited before publication, as appropriate, to preserve anonymity in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and to prevent copying of signatures.

What happens next?

Feedback from the consultation will be considered by Cabinet. If the Cabinet decides to continue with the proposals after considering the comments received, it will begin the process of implementing them.

  • Statutory notices will be posted at the schools and published in the Liverpool Echo, in the Spring Term 2019.
  • There will be a period of four weeks during which anyone can comment on or object to the proposals.

 Any comments or objections received during this period will be reported to Cabinet which will then decide whether or not to approve the proposals.

Timetable

The expected timetable for progress of the proposals is as follows:

  • Consultation period: 28th February - 28th March 2019.
  • Cabinet decision whether to proceed to publish proposals: 26th April 2019.
  • If approved, Statutory Notices will be published with four week representation period: 6th May - 2nd June 2019.
  • Cabinet decision: June 2019.
  • Implementation date: 1st September 2019.
