Consultation on the proposal to introduce permits for work carried out on Liverpool's highways

Consultation on the proposal to introduce permits for work carried out on Liverpool's highways

Start date: 2nd May 2018
End date: 29th June 2018

What we're consulting on

We are seeking comments on a proposal to introduce a permit scheme designed to help us manage and monitor any potentially disruptive activity across Liverpool's highway network. The proposal is made in line with the Traffic Management Permit Scheme (England) Regulations 2007 and 2015, and will also help us meet our duty to maintain the flow and movement of traffic in and around Liverpool.

Under the scheme, permits would be granted to utility companies and other contractors that need to carry out essential work on the city's roads. Similar schemes have been adopted by other local authorities in Merseyside and the North West, resulting in a marked drop in disruption to their road networks.
