Consultation on Woolton Road Cycle Lane Scheme

Consultation on Woolton Road Cycle Lane Scheme

Start date: Monday 21st January 2019
End date: Friday 1st February 2019

What are we consulting on?

We have put forward plans to create a mandatory cycle lane on Woolton Road. This will allow some protection for people that are travelling along here by cycle and therefore we hope to encourage more people to use the route.

Following the original consultation, approval was given to implement the mandatory cycle lane as shown on the original consultation drawing below. This drawing includes amendments made in consideration of comments received in the first round of consultation.

However, the section between the junction of Taggart Avenue and Woolton Road and the roundabout at the junction of Woolton Road/Aldbourne Avenue/Childwall Park Avenue was deferred following representation made at the Highways and Public Spaces Representation Committee.

As such we have been asked to contact people in a slightly wider area to find out if they expect to be impacted by the scheme and what the nature of those impacts might be.

How do I comment?

If you wish to put forward any comments on this, please email oliver.brown@amey.co.uk by Friday 1st February 2019.

What happens next?

The comments we receive will be collated and presented at a further meeting of the Highways & Public Spaces Representation Committee and a decision will be made with regards to the implementation of the deferred section between the junction of Taggart Avenue and Woolton Road and the roundabout at the junction of Woolton Road/Aldbourne Avenue/Childwall Park Avenue.
