Covid-19 cases and control plan

Data extracted covering testing up to 14th February 2021 show that the total number of confirmed cases for the last 7 days is 929, a decrease of 408 cases on the previous week. The latest weekly rate of Covid-19 in Liverpool is 186.5 per 100,000 population and the latest positivity testing rate* is 9%.
Of the 929 confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 196 (21.1%) were detected using Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) kits.
The majority of cases (53%) were in those aged under 40 years, whereas 30% cases were in those aged 40-59 yrs. Of all the confirmed cases in the last seven days 50% were female and 50% were male. Of those cases where ethnicity was given, 84% people were recorded as White British and 16% people were from a Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority background.
Compared to the previous week the rate of new infections in the city has slightly decreased, however the 7 day rate remains very high.
The wards with the largest number of confirmed cases are Fazakerley (67 cases), Tuebrook and Stoneycroft (55 cases), Speke-Garston (53 cases), Belle Vale (45 cases), Clubmoor (43 cases), Kensington and Fairfield (41 cases), Riverside (37 cases), Picton (34 cases), Princes Park (34 cases) and Kirkdale (34 cases).
Between 10th-16th February 2021 there were 165 registered deaths in Liverpool, of which 41% (n=67) were Covid-19 deaths.
