Covid-19 cases and control plan

Data extracted covering testing up to 5th March 2021 show that the total number of confirmed cases for the last 7 days is 303, a decrease of 280 cases on the previous week. The latest weekly rate of Covid-19 in Liverpool is 60.8 per 100,000 population and the latest positivity testing rate* is 4.1%.
Of the 303 confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 79 (26.1%) were detected using Lateral Flow Testing (LFT) kits.
The majority of cases (60%) were in those aged under 40 years, whereas 26% cases were in those aged 40-59 yrs. Of all the confirmed cases in the last seven days 51% were female and 49% were male. Of those cases where ethnicity was given, 81% people were recorded as White British and 19% people were from a Black, Asian and minority ethnic background.
Compared to the previous week the rate of new infections in the city has slightly decreased, however the 7-day rate remains high.
The wards with the largest number of confirmed cases are Picton (21 cases), Norris Green (20 cases), Speke-Garston (19 cases), Warbreck (19 cases), Yew Tree (18 cases), Riverside (16 cases), St Michael's (15 cases), Anfield (14 cases), Fazakerley (14 cases) and Knotty Ash (13 cases).
Between 28th February - 6th March 2021 there were 145 registered deaths in Liverpool, of which 21% (n=31) were Covid-19 deaths.
