Parliamentary elections – 12th December 2019

On the 12th December 2019, Parliamentary elections will take place in all five constituencies in Liverpool listed below.

  • Garston and Halewood
  • Liverpool Riverside
  • Liverpool Wavertree
  • Liverpool Walton
  • Liverpool West Derby

How to vote

If you are already registered at your current address then you do not need to do anything further and a poll card will be delivered to you by the end of November.  If you have only recently registered then your poll card will be delivered in early December.

If you have recently moved or need to get yourself added to the electoral register, the deadline to register to vote in this election is Tuesday, 26th November 2019. Find out how to register to vote.

Postal and or proxy voting

If you are unable to get to your polling station on election day, then you can apply for a postal or proxy vote.

New postal applications must be received at the Elections office by no later than 5pm on Tuesday, 26th November 2019 to be effective for this election.

New proxy applications must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, 4th December 2019 to be effective for this election.

If you are interested in standing as a candidate at this election, then you can email elections@liverpool.gov.uk who will provide further information on this. Nomination packs can also be requested using this e-mail address, alternatively you may wish to visit the Electoral Commission website.

If you do wish to stand as a candidate then you will be required to pay a deposit of £500

Please note that the deadline to submit completed nomination papers is 4pm on Thursday, 14th November 2019.
