Polling District Review 2019

Notice of review of polling districts, polling places and polling stations

In accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1983, the review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006 and the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, Liverpool City Council is required to undertake a review of its polling districts and polling places every four years. Section 17 of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013 also provides that the next such review must take place in the period of 1st October 2018 to 31st January 2020.

Further to the above, Notice is hereby given that Liverpool City Council will be undertaking a review of its polling districts and polling places within existing Wards for use in connection with all elections.  The review will commence on 10th July 2019 and will be completed in sufficient time to enable the Electoral Registration Officer to make any alterations necessary to the register of electors when it is next fully published on 1st December 2019.  The boundaries of existing Wards are NOT affected by, nor included in the review.

Representations will be sought from the Acting Returning Officer for all Parliamentary constituencies affected, ward Councillors, MP’s and MEP’s.  The Council will also be pleased to receive representations for consideration from any interested individuals, community groups or organisations, particularly those with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability, on alterations to current electoral arrangements.  Representations should, wherever possible, include suggested alternative premises which may be used for polling purposes.

The details of the existing electoral arrangements are available for inspection between the hours of 9:30am and 4:00pm on any normal working day at Electoral Services, Venture Place, Sir Thomas Street, Liverpool, L1 6BW and a full list of current polling district/station information is published below.

Representations for consideration to the existing arrangements should be made in writing to the Electoral Registration Officer, Liverpool City Council, Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool, L3 1AH or by email to elections@liverpool.gov.uk by no later than Wednesday, 7th August 2019.

Details of representations received will be made available for inspection as part of the review process.
