Liverpool City Council is looking for an Independent Chair of the Mayoral and Performance Select Committee
About the role
The Mayoral and Performance Select Committee is a key component of the council's arrangements to support good governance at Liverpool City Council.
It will scrutinise the decisions of the Mayor of Liverpool in the context of the Mayoral Responsibilities as outlined within the Constitution, the Mayor's executive powers and to help support the council improve its corporate capacity and improve outcomes for residents.
Applicants will need to be contactable throughout the year.
Previous experience of chairing committees is helpful but not essential.
The successful applicant will need to be available to attend approximately five meetings of the committee in any year and any associated training and development events.
The role is not a job vacancy. Should you be appointed, you will not be a council employee. You will be entitled to be reimbursed for expenses but will not receive any allowance or remuneration.
