Notice of allotment rent increase

Plot rent increases 2023/24

The annual rent for an allotment plot will be increasing for the tenancy period 1st January 2023 – 31st December 2023. This increase was announced in last year’s rent notification letter circulated to each allotment site in December 2021.

2023 plot rental charges will be as follows:

• Full plot £54.00
• Over 60s concession £27.00

Further to this notice of plot rental charges for 2023 I also herby give all allotment holders 12 months’ notice of plot rental increases for 2024.

No decision has yet been taken on the level of 2024 rent increases. We aim to communicate this decision to all allotment holders in May 2023 after consultation with stakeholders has taken place.

Allotments continue to provide excellent value for money despite Liverpool City Council losing a significant proportion of its local government funding. Increases in allotment rents have wherever possible been kept to a minimum. However, budgetary pressure requires that rents are regularly reviewed to ensure service delivery is maintained cost neutral to the council.
