Organising events

Large scale events

What you need to know if you are planning a large scale event in parks, public spaces or city centre sites.

Small scale and neighbourhood events

You may not need a licence for certain small scale and neighbourhood events where alcohol is not supplied.

Street parties

For major Royal events, we allow street parties to take place across the city.

Temporary Event Notice

Temporary events or functions with certain licensable activities, such as the sale and supply of alcohol, require a permit.

Park events

Read our guide about organising events in Liverpool parks, or enquire about holding your event in Liverpool parks and greenspaces.

Temporary market events

If you're planning a temporary market at an event or festival which includes five or more stalls or retail units, you'll need to apply for a Markets Rights Licence.

Play streets

Play streets are resident-led temporary road closures to allow children to play.
