Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson has named 2020 the Year of Reading in Liverpool.
Throughout the year we will be working with partners across the city to inspire everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, to read for pleasure – whether that’s enjoying a novel, picking up a poem, or entering the world of comic books.
The year was officially launched on Tuesday 21st January 2020 at Liverpool Central Library.
Across Liverpool there are many organisations that already understand the importance of reading for pleasure. The organisations that are helping to plan activities for Liverpool Reads are:
- Edge Hill University
- Liverpool Learning Partnership
- The Reader
- Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School
- School Improvement Liverpool
- Tate Liverpool
- Wilmott Dixon
- Mighty Quinn Management
- Comics Youth
Also working with us are:
- Everton in the Community
- LFC Foundation
- Book Trust
- Reading Agency
- Literacy Trust
- John Moore’s University
