Summer Reading Challenge 2025

The much-loved Summer Reading Challenge is back — and it’s bigger, brighter, and more book-filled than ever.

This year's challenge has launched across all Liverpool Libraries, and we welcome all young readers for a summer of stories and surprises.

What’s the Summer Reading Challenge?

It’s a fun, free reading adventure for children of all ages. The challenge encourages children to read six or more books during the summer holidays, collecting stickers, rewards, and a certificate along the way. It’s a brilliant way to keep reading skills sharp while having loads of fun.

When does it start?

The challenge officially began on 5th July 2025 and will continue through the summer, so get ready to dive into a world of imagination, creativity, and discovery.

Visit your local library to find out more about the Summer Reading Challenge and be a part of this year's summer reading event.
