Roadworks

Our roadworks list is updated weekly to help you plan your journey around the Liverpool area.

It includes details of road closures, events, highway improvement works and utility works at the point of publication but may not include closures or works that may be carried out at short notice.

Details of any emergency work that has a major impact on our road network will be published on Twitter @lpoolcouncil.

Brownlow Hill, L3

Cadent Gas main renewal works between Renshaw Street and Great Newton Street have resulted in lane restrictions until 31st May 2019.

Childwall Valley Road, L24

Cadent Gas main renewal works at its junction with Caldway Drive have resulted in    temporary signals and a side road closure of Kings Drive until 18th June 2019.

Church Road, L19

Network Rail bridge repair works near to its junction with Speke Road has resulted in a road closure until 1st July 2019.

Churchill Way North/South Flyover, L2

Liverpool City Council/Graham Construction site investigation works have resulted in a permanent road closure of both flyovers until demolition.

Great Howard Street/Derby Road, L5

Liverpool City Council/Osborne highway improvement works between Millers Bridge and Leeds Street have resulted in lane restrictions and temporary signals until 31st December 2019.

Horrocks Avenue, L19

LCC/King Construction highway improvement works have resulted in lane restrictions until 31st May 2019

Kensington, L7

Liverpool City Council/HA Civils highway improvement works have resulted in lane restrictions until 30th June 2019.

Lorenzo Drive, L11

Dowhigh carriageway resurfacing works between Utting Avenue East and Broad Lane have resulted in a road closure until 24th June 2019.

Riverside Drive, L3

LCC/Graham Construction site investigation works near to Ellerman Road have resulted in temporary signals until 16th June 2019. 

Speke Road, L24

LCC/Colas carriageway remedial works near to Woolton Golf Course have resulted in temporary signals until 25th May 2019. 

Waterloo Road/Regent Road, L5

Liverpool City Council/Osborne highway improvement works between Bath Street and Regent Street have resulted in a road closure until 25th July 2019.

West Derby Village, L12

Liverpool City Council/Dowhigh carriageway resurfacing works between Meadow Lane and Marford Road have resulted in a road closure until 24th May 2019.

Upper Parliament Street and Grafton Street, L8

Liverpool City Council/King Construction junction improvement works have resulted in lane restrictions 5th June 2019.

Victoria Street, Moorfields, North John Street, Crosshall Street, L2

Liverpool City Council/Graham Construction highway improvement works have resulted in lane restrictions until November 2019.

Walton Hall Avenue/Queens Drive L4

Liverpool City Council/King Construction highway improvement works between Queens Drive and Stopgate Lane have resulted in lane restrictions until 30th June 2019.

West Derby Street, L7

Laing O’Rourke redevelopment of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital has resulted in lane restrictions and a temporary one-way system (Crown Street to Low Hill) until October 2019.

Major planned projects

Over the next few years we’re improving key routes that are in poor condition and carry large volumes of traffic. Unfortunately, there will be short-term disruption but we’ll do everything we can to keep things moving.
