The Gambling Act regulates all gambling in Great Britain, apart from the National Lottery and spread betting.
The council authorises the provision of facilities for gambling.
Where no licence is in force you may apply for temporary or occasional use notices for gambling to take place on your premises.
The council is responsible for issuing alcohol licensed premises, family entertainment centres, prize gaming and clubs.
These do not require a licence, but must be registered with the council.
The Gambling Commission grants operating and personal licences for commercial gambling, people in the industry and certain lottery managers and promoters.
