The City Council has now transferred all of its social housing to Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) or Housing Associations as they are also known.
Although we have no stock, we are required by s.167 of the Housing Act 1996 to have an allocation scheme for determining priorities and for defining the procedures to be followed in allocating social housing accommodation in our area.

To meet our statutory and regulatory requirements, it is now even more important that the RSLs work closely with the City Council and this will be achieved through the nomination arrangements agreed with the RSLs. The allocation of homes will be monitored through the Choice Based lettings scheme, Propertypool, which was introduced in May 2004.
