Welcome to this Business Rates Information Guide, which also provides details of Liverpool City Council's 2026/2027 budget.
This is the most positive budget we have been able to set for some years due to an increase in Government funding and the introduction of multi-year settlements.
Growing the city's economy remains a real priority, and it is encouraging to see strong momentum across a number of major schemes that are also creating significant investment and business opportunities.
These include the opening this summer of Hill Dickinson stadium; groundworks under way on the Central Docks at Liverpool Waters; the recent planning approval of the first building as part for the development of Kings around King Edward Triangle on our iconic waterfront; early proposals for the 75-acre Pumpfields and Limekilns district on the northern edge of the city centre which offers substantial long-term potential for housing, employment and innovation-led growth; and detailed plans created for the development of Grade A office space in the Pall Mall area of Liverpool City Centre. In addition, Paddington South provides an opportunity for further growth in advanced manufacturing and research, as the Paddington Village area looks to expand.
The volume of projects in the pipeline shows how much confidence the private sector has in Liverpool as a city that can do business and deliver unique results.
