Picton Children's Centre

We provide free weekly fun activities for parents, carers and their children and support and advice for families and expectant parents.

If you've never used a children's centre before you'll need to register your details before accessing services. Complete your registration online or visit your nearest children's centre to register.

Chatham Nursery provides full and part time places at the centre.

All sessions are term time only and must be booked unless otherwise stated.

  • Community Physiotherapy

  • You and Me Mum

    Picton CC

    10 week course for women who have experienced domestic abuse to support you through recovery. Limited creche places available.

    Monday 1pm — 3pm, starts 15th April.


  • Early Communication Group

    Picton CC

    A 6-week course that helps with development of speech and language. Places offered by invitation only by SEN worker. 

    Tuesday 9.30am — 10.30am, starts 23rd April.

    Tuesday 1.30am — 2.30am, starts 4th June.

    Do you have concerns about your child's development? Come and have a chat with our Special Educational Needs worker.

    A support group for families of children with additional needs.

    For children aged 0-4 with sensory processing difficulties or those with listening and attention difficulties.

  • Look Say Sing Play

    Picton CC

    3 week course for children aged 0-2 years. Come along and join in with fun activities that support your babies brain development.

    Wednesday 1pm — 2pm, starts 17th April.


  • Welcome to Play

    Picton CC

    6 week course to introduce the importance of play and encourage parents and carers to take part in playful activities to support your child's learning.

    Wednesday 1pm — 3pm, starts 5th June.


  • Baby weighing clinic

    Picton CC

    Clinic delivered by Health Visiting team. By appointment only.

    Thursday 9.30am — 11.30am

  • Baby Massage

    Picton CC

    A 5-week course for babies who are not yet crawling. Massage oils provided - just bring a towel.

  • Antenatal Parent Education

    A 2 week course with antenatal advice and support for expectant parents and their birthing partners. We will be running two courses on the dates below.

    Thursday 3pm — 4.30pm.

    For children aged 0-4 years and their parents. Have fun, play and laugh while learning British Sign Language.

Other services at this centre

  • Breastfeeding support and advice – if you need support or advice please ring 233 1200.
  • Healthy Start vitamins and drops - you can redeem your Healthy Start vitamin vouchers at our reception desk. We can also provide a Healthy Start application form for anyone who may be eligible to apply.
  • Lending Library - includes a wide range of quality books including dual language books for your child to borrow and take home, for FREE for up to one week. Enjoy sharing books together.
  • Reading Pledge - sign up and receive your FREE pack. This entitles your family to borrow reading resources for up to one week, which are specifically put together for your child’s age and stage of development.
  • Smoke Free Liverpool - if you would like support to stop smoking please speak to a member of staff who can refer you.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - if you need advice or support about your child’s development, behaviour, sleep pattern or any speech and language issues please contact Irene.
  • Volunteering opportunities - we can offer parents valuable work experience within our centre. For more information please ring 233 1200.
