Holiday activity hub

During school holidays children and young people, aged from reception to 16 years old who are eligible for targeted benefits-related free school meals, can access free activities and a meal.

  • Holiday Activities and Food Programme

This programme is only for children and young people from reception age to 16 who receive targeted benefits-related free school meals, not universal or expanded free meals. Please check the eligibility criteria for targeted benefits-related free school meals before you apply. 

What's on offer this Summer?

The Summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme for children and young people from reception age to 16 who receive benefits-related free school meals, starts on Monday 22nd July 2026.

There’s a great range of free activities on offer across the city including trips out, Lego building, rock climbing, cooking, racket sports, sewing, painting, cycling, gymnastics, football and gardening, and much more.

When you have chosen an activity, you will need to contact that organisation to book a place. If your child has any additional needs or dietary requirements then please tell them.

Activity days

There will also be three HAF Family Activity Days during the summer with giant inflatables, a mini train, mini golf, dancing, singing, food, go karts.

  • Wednesday 5th August at Princes Park at 1pm-3pm
  • Wednesday 12th August at Rice Lane City Farm at 1pm-3pm
  • Wednesday 19th August at Garston Park at 1pm-3pm

Annual Report

Liverpool City Council works with Mersey Play Action Council local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to offer this programme.
