Consultation and engagement

Consultation on Liverpool City Centre to Childwall Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Scheme

Start date: 16th March 2026
End date: 13th April 2026

What are we consulting on?

In 2024 we adopted our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP). The plan set out the ambition to develop a connected and coherent network of high-quality walking and cycling routes across the city.

Connecting Liverpool City Centre with Childwall was one of the priorities within the plan. In 2023 we carried out public consultation to present our concept design plans for the route. In 2024 we held additional consultation around proposals for the Lawrence Road area. Since then, we have taken the feedback we received and developed the designs further.

The information provided as part of this consultation shows the current proposals and how they have changed since we last presented the plans in 2023.

We would like your feedback again before we prepare the final detailed designs. The current designs are available to view below.

Please note that the area map documents may not be accessible to users of assistive technology. If you struggle to view a map online and need it to be described to you, please email Active.Travel@liverpool.gov.uk.
