Consultation and engagement

CAIP Framework consultation results

The Culture and Arts Investment Programme (CAIP) consultation ran throughout June 2022.

We asked...

We asked for views on a draft framework which set out how Liverpool City Council's cultural grant funding is allocated via the Culture and Arts Investment Programme (CAIP).

450 cultural sector professionals, and other appropriate cultural organisations, were invited to review the framework and comment on it via an online survey.

We received 51 responses. The main points raised were:

  • a need to reduce repetition and simplify the framework document
  • questions about the meaning of 'Triple Lock'
  • a need for additional guidance which has now been supplied
  • queries about thresholds of funding
  • requests to amend scoring criteria with ‘Cultural Value’ being the main one
  • requests for the application burden to be reduced for smaller organisations

A revised framework was published as part of the stage one application process, which has now closed, and applications are being considered.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and experiences with us.
