Consultation on an anti-racism strategy

Start date: 12th May 2025
End date: 27th June 2025

What are we consulting on?

Liverpool City Council is committed to becoming an anti-racist organisation and building a fairer, more inclusive city for everyone.

We are working closely with other major institutions and anchor organisations across the city to develop an anti-racism strategy for the city as a whole which works to effectively address racism within our institutions.

We’re working with Inclusivitii (Inclusivitii.com), a leading diversity and inclusion organisation, to ensure this process is inclusive and community led.

We want to hear from people who live, work, study, or spend time in Liverpool. We are seeking views on the how the council and its partners can ensure this plan meets the needs of the city and address the key themes and issues which are important to our residents. Your thoughts and reflections on this topic are critical in ensuring the strategy addresses the specific issues existing in Liverpool.

What happens to my views?

Once the consultation closes, results will be accessed by a restricted team made up of our consultants from Inclusivitii and Liverpool City Council’s Anti-Racism Action Plan Lead only.  The results will be used to inform the anti-racism strategy’s development.

We will feedback the findings from this survey through a summary report, in line with the publication of the wider strategy, which is due to be published Autumn 2025. Responses will be summarised for inclusion in the report.

Your comments may be included in the report, but this will be done anonymously. The data from this consultation will be kept securely for a maximum of 12 months and then destroyed.

What happens next?

Once the consultation closes, the results will be utilised to help inform the strategy’s development. The draft strategy will be submitted to cabinet for adoption in Autumn 2025.
