Consultation on Pumpfields and Limekilns SPD

What are we consulting on?

We are asking for your views on the final draft of the Pumpfields and Limekilns Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). Pumpfields and Limekilns is an important regeneration site between Liverpool City Centre, Vauxhall and the Ten Streets district. The SPD sets out a long term plan for how this part of the city could grow and change over the next 15 to 20 years.

It aims to guide new homes, jobs, green spaces, streets and community facilities in a coordinated way, helping to create a lively, well connected neighbourhood that links the city centre with Liverpool North.

It is a planning document that provides more detailed guidance on how development should come forward in this part of the city. It supports the Liverpool Local Plan by setting out a clear vision, design principles, and expectations for new development.

It explains how streets, buildings, public spaces, and land uses should be arranged so that the area grows in a high quality, coordinated and sustainable way. Once adopted, it will help shape planning decisions and guide investment in the area.

How to comment

We are collecting feedback through an online survey hosted on Citizen Space. This is the easiest way to share your views on the final draft of the Pumpfields and Limekilns SPD

The consultation is open to Liverpool residents, businesses, community organisations, landowners, developers, and anyone with an interest in the future of the area. You can take part by completing the online survey using the link below.

What happens to my views?

Your feedback will be handled in line with data protection legislation. All responses are stored securely and used only to analyse the consultation and prepare the final Pumpfields and Limekilns SPD.

Citizen Space collects only the information needed to run the consultation. Any personal details you choose to provide, such as your email address or phone number, will not be published or shared with third parties. However, your name or the name of your organisation will be published alongside your comment as part of the consultation record.

What happens next?

After the consultation closes, we will:

  • look at all the comments we receive
  • prepare a statement explaining the main issues raised and how we have responded to them
  • update the SPD where needed
  • publish the final version for adoption by the council.

Once adopted, the SPD will help guide planning decisions and future development in Pumpfields and Limekilns.
