Consultation on the Draft Gambling Act Policy Statement of Principles 2025–2028

Start date: Monday 12th August 2024
End date: Monday 23rd September 2024

What are we consulting on?

Liverpool City Council has prepared a draft Gambling Act Policy Statement of Principles for 2025-2028 in accordance with the statutory requirement to publish a new statement every three years.

The draft Statement is the same as the current Statement save for:

  • Section A2.1 being updated to reflect statistical changes in the area’s profile.
  • Section C3.7 being expanded to give further clarity as to the harms which “vulnerable persons” can experience due to problem gambling.

If you prefer to receive a written hard copy, please email LicensingAct2003@liverpool.gov.uk, or write to Licensing and Public Protection Service  Liverpool City Council  Cunard Buildings  Water Street I Liverpool L3 1AH

How to comment

What happens to my views?

Any comments you make will be duly considered prior to the formal approval of the document for publication. Responses will only be shared within the licensing service and with the committee. A record of the replies will be kept for the duration of the policy statement (3 years) before being destroyed.

Individual responses will be anonymised so an individual cannot be identified from their comments. However responses from an organisation will be published in full in the committee report.

What happens next?

Once the consultation period has ended, any responses received will be summarised and reported back to Liverpool City Council's Licensing and Gambling Committee for them to consider.
