Workforce equality information

Workforce monitoring

We analyse our workforce data by the protected characteristics. This is published at an organisational level in the equality data dashboard and more detailed information is included in our annual equality report:

  • Annual Progress Report 2022-2023

This report highlights the actions we have taken over the past 12 months to support equality, diversity and inclusion, progress our equality objectives and meet our statutory duties.

We know we can do more to make sure that our workforce reflects the diversity of our city and that if we do that then we will make better decisions, deliver better services and connect more closely to our residents. There is a strong emphasis on improving how we gather equality information, understanding the workforce demographics and showing progress within these areas.

We recognise that there are gaps in our workforce data and are working to improve response rates by communicating the value of the information to improvement, its purpose and that it will be kept confidential.

Pay gap reports

As an organisation with more than 250 employees, we have a duty to report gender pay gap information. You can view the latest pay gap reports below.

Staff networks

We are proud of our staff networks.

They provide a safe space for employees to come together to share ideas, support each other, raise awareness of challenges and discuss issues important to them.

They also help to raise the profile of the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation and offer a collective voice, particularly for underrepresented groups, to drive positive change. Currently there are five networks:

  • Race Equality
  • LGBTQ+
  • Disabled
  • Faith
  • Early Careers

We also have an EDI Leadership Group, where senior leaders help drive and support equality, diversity and inclusion at Liverpool City Council.
