What is the neighbourhood model?
We have implemented a neighbourhood model to transform the way we deliver frontline services for the people of Liverpool.
We are committed to developing thriving neighbourhoods, where people can work together to achieve a good quality of life.
There are 13 neighbourhoods across the city, each serving a population of 30,000 to 50,000 people.
Rather than following a 'one size fits all' model, a neighbourhood approach will ensure local solutions are tailored.
Each neighbourhood is led by a manager who works with other council services and partners to identify and address key issues in their area.
We work alongside our diverse communities to drive improvement and achieve the best possible outcomes. We will also use data to understand local need and demand.
Our approach
Communities are at the heart of everything we do. We want to work collectively to:
- connect more people to the assets in their neighbourhood and city
- help strengthen connections between residents and the council
- support safe, sustainable and inspiring neighbourhoods
- deliver resilient and cohesive services
- establish better places to live for all
