Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Plan
Liverpool’s Highway Infrastructure Asset Management Plan (HIAMP) lays out LCC’s approach to maintaining highway assets strategically and efficiently. The first HIAMP was approved in May 2014. An update for 2020 is now alongside our Highway Asset Management Policy and Strategy 2019/20-2022/23.
The HIAMP is integral to the delivery of Liverpool’s £500m highway investment programme, by supporting effective scheme prioritisation, efficient delivery and helping to ensure robust and long term solutions for maintaining the network.
The strategy document provides asset information and analysis of the maintenance of highway assets, identifies efficiencies and promotes and supports informed evidence-based decision making and making best use of available resources.
Liverpool’s highway network is worth an estimated £4.9bn (2017 WGA), and it is important that this valuable asset is protected and maintained efficiently with available resources such that the level of service provided can be optimised for road users.
