Household Support Fund
Our Healthy Homes service has been allocated funding for the Household Support Fund as part of the government’s local welfare provision.
What's on offer?
Winter Warmer Packs
The funding is being used to provide Winter Warmer Packs with the following items:
- Snuggies/Oodies (blankets with a hood) or a blanket
- hats, scarfs, and gloves
- thermal vest
- hot water bottles
- room thermometer
- radiator keys
Energy efficiency measures
In addition, funding for energy efficiency measures will be available from January 2025 to 31st March 2025 for customers who own the property they live in and have no heating. These measures include:
- a replacement boiler, if the boiler is broken beyond repair
- boiler repairs
- radiator reflectors
These measures are fully funded until the money allocated by central government runs out. They are subject to application, a home visit and evidence of eligibility. Boiler repairs and boiler replacements are also subject to a technical survey.
Who can apply?
Government has given us guidance on who may be eligible for help. Priority is given to applicants who:
- have no visible means of support
- earn less than £31,000 gross each year, or receive a means-tested benefit. Find out more about means-tested benefits (turn2us.org.uk)
- are entitled benefits but are not claiming them
- do not have the money to pay for a replacement boiler or boiler repairs
- have children who get free school meals because the household income is no more than £7,300-£7,900 each year
- get Housing Benefit - this makes them only eligible for a Winter Warmer Pack, not the energy efficiency measures
- have disproportionately high heating costs because they need to manage a disability or health condition
