Household Support Fund
Our Healthy Homes service has been allocated funding for the Household Support Fund as part of the government’s local welfare provision.
What's on offer?
Winter Warmer Packs
The funding is being used to provide Winter Warmer Packs with the following items:
- Snuggies/Hoodies (blankets with a hood) or a blanket
- hats, scarfs, and gloves
- thermal vest
- hot water bottles
- room thermometer
- radiator keys
Energy efficiency measures
Energy efficiency measures include:
- a replacement boiler, if the boiler is broken beyond repair
- boiler repairs
- radiator reflectors
- door draught excluders
As part of our damp and mould project we also offer:
- damp proof courses
- dehumidifiers
- pipework repairs
- ventilation systems
These measures are only available to residents who own their own home. They are fully funded until the money allocated by central government runs out. They are subject to application, a home visit and evidence of eligibility. Any work we carry out is subject to a technical survey.
Who can apply?
Government has given us the guidance below on who may be eligible for help. Some discretion may be applied on a case-by-case basis.
To apply you must:
- be on a means-tested benefit (turn2us.org.uk) or have an annual household income of less than £31,000, and savings below £16,000.
You must also have someone living in the household who is:
- aged 65 or over, or
- aged under 5, or
- suffering from terminal cancer or a terminal illness; or a cardiovascular, respiratory or mental health condition; or a disability that affects their mobility.
Owner-occupiers are only eligible for a new boiler if they lack financial means and cannot access other funding routes. Their current boiler must be completely broken or have an intermittent fault beyond economical repair.
Private tenants are only eligible for Winter Warm Packs.
