Flags or lights on a civic building

We follow national protocols and agreed local arrangements for flag flying and the illumination of civic buildings.

An annual programme is approved taking into account national commemorations, civic occasions, support for key partner campaigns, and significant local or national events.

As requests are not considered through a public application process, we are unable to accommodate individual requests for flag flying or building illuminations.
