Picton Children's Centre

We provide free weekly fun activities for parents, carers and their children and support and advice for families and expectant parents.

If you've never used a children's centre before you'll need to register your details before accessing services. Complete your registration online or visit your nearest children's centre to register.

Chatham Nursery provides full and part time places at the centre.

Activity timetable

All sessions are term time only and must be booked unless otherwise stated.

Our Winter timetable runs from Monday 8th January 2024 to Thursday 28th March 2024. 

  • All about Baby

    Picton CC

    Fun session for parents with babies under 1 year, to enjoy stimulating and age appropriate activities.
    12-week course starts 8th January 2024.

    Monday 10.30am — 11.30am 


  • Early Communication Group

    Picton CC

    A 6-week course that helps with development of speech and language. Places offered by invitation only by SEN worker. 

    Wednesday 1.30pm — 2.30pm. Course starts 21st February 2024.

  • Baby Massage

    Picton CC

    A 5-week course for babies who are not yet crawling. Massage oils provided - just bring a towel.

    Thursday 1.30pm — 3pm, starts 22nd February 2024.

  • Slow Cooker Class

    Picton CC

    Adults only cookery course. Have fun learning to cook healthy one pot recipes. FREE slow cooker for each family at the end.

  • Rhythm and Rhyme

    Picton CC

    Weekly musical sessions for children aged 0-4 years. 

    Monday 1.15pm — 2pm from 8th January to 5th February 2024.

    A practical session with lots of useful tips about how to successfully wean your baby.

  • Look Say Sing Play

    Picton CC

    For children aged 0-2 years. Come along and join in with fun activities that support your babies brain development.

    Monday 1pm — 2pm from 4th to 25th March 2024.

  • Breastfeeding support and advice – if you need support or advice please ring 233 1200.
  • Healthy Start vitamins and drops - you can redeem your Healthy Start vitamin vouchers at our reception desk. We can also provide a Healthy Start application form for anyone who may be eligible to apply.
  • Lending Library - includes a wide range of quality books including dual language books for your child to borrow and take home, for FREE for up to one week. Enjoy sharing books together.
  • Reading Pledge - sign up and receive your FREE pack. This entitles your family to borrow reading resources for up to one week, which are specifically put together for your child’s age and stage of development.
  • Smoke Free Liverpool - if you would like support to stop smoking please speak to a member of staff who can refer you.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - if you need advice or support about your child’s development, behaviour, sleep pattern or any speech and language issues please contact Irene.
  • Volunteering opportunities - we can offer parents valuable work experience within our centre. For more information please ring 233 1200.
