Year 7 late applications

If your child is due to start Year 7 in September 2024 the official closing date for applications is 31st October 2023. If you miss the closing date you can submit a late application from 1st November 2023.

Process for late applications

Applications received after 31st October 2023 but before 17th January 2024

Forms received after the closing date will be considered as late applications unless there is a valid reason for being late e.g. change of address, change in a medical condition or exceptional social reasons.

• Late applications with a valid reason will be considered with applications received on time.
• Late applications without a valid reason will be considered after those applications received on time.
• Late applications with a valid reason will be placed on a waiting list if the school is oversubscribed.
• Late applications without a valid reason will be considered after those applications received on time.
• If the school has places available the child will be offered a place at that school.

Forms received after 17th January 2024

• Late applications with a valid reason will be placed on a waiting list if the school is oversubscribed.
• Late applications without a valid reason will be considered after those applications received on time.
• If the school has places available the child will be offered a place at that school.

Submit a late application

You can submit a Year 7 late application online below when the application window opens from 1st November 2023.

You will be asked to choose 5 schools. If you live in Liverpool but want to name a school in another local authority area, select 'Non-Liverpool school' from the dropdown menu and enter the name of the school.

If you want your application to be considered under exceptional social or medical grounds or other criteria you will be prompted to upload copies of any proof documents to support your application. This can be a photograph or copy of a document.

The total combined size of any files you upload should not exceed 15MB.

Remember, you will also need to send any supplementary information forms directly to schools that require them. These are normally required by faith schools.
