Grave options and how to purchase

There are 3 types of graves available across our six cemeteries: Full body graves, cremated remains plots and a woodland grave.

Not all options are available at all cemeteries - we advise you to take a look at our cemetery pages to see what grave options are available at each site before making your decision.

Grave types

Full body graves

A full body grave can accommodate 2 full body burials and approximately 6 to 8 sets of cremated remains (ashes).

Cremated remains plot

A cremated remains plot can accommodate 6 to 8 sets of ashes.

Woodland graves

A woodland grave can accommodate one full body burial. This option is only available at Allerton Cemetery.

How to purchase a grave

If you are planning an imminent burial, you should discuss options and preferences with your chosen Funeral Director.

We have graves available in different sections of each of our cemeteries. Whilst we do try to accommodate requests for specific sections, we will allocate the next grave available, rather than you picking an exact grave. Often, grave spaces may appear to be available but have already been purchased in reserve.

What happens next?

We will respond to your enquiry within 5 working days. During busier periods it may take longer as we must prioritise imminent burials and cremations, but we will contact you as soon as possible.
